What is this countdown?The countdown is a fan event that will count down the days until the port release of the JRPG, Tales of Symphonia Remastered! It will include contributors who sign up for the event. On each day, either one or multiple contributors will have their work showcased on the event account with proper credit.When is Tales of Symphonia Remastered being released?It will be released on February 17, 2023!Who can participate?We are accepting artists, writers, cosplayers, and any other creatives! All skill levels are welcome.As of November 30, 2022, we have closed our signups for the countdown.How long will the countdown last and when will it start?As of right now, we are planning to start the countdown at January 17, 2023 for a total of 31 days! With our current number of participants, multiple creators will share the same days. For the release date, we will also be featuring a group collab pic from several artists in the countdown as a final celebration!What are the requirements for the works to be submitted?Essentially, all work made for the countdown must be new and of your own creation, must not primarily feature characters from the sequel Dawn of the New World/Knight of Ratatosk, and be SFW with a max rating of PG-13.For more details on the guidelines, please click here!Are ships/AUs allowed?Absolutely!Can characters from the sequel Dawn of the New World/Knight of Ratatosk also be featured?As the port only contains Tales of Symphonia, we would prefer for all contributors' works to focus on the characters from the first game.Where is this countdown hosted?We are hosting the countdown both on twitter and tumblr. Please be sure to follow us on these accounts!Who is running the countdown?Darkhymns (fanfic writer) and Frayed-Symphony (fanartist) are running this event. We’ve been longtime fans of Symphonia since 2004, and we’re excited to celebrate the port release of our favorite game with other fans!

Contributor Guidelines

For all those in the countdown, please read the following guidelines for your contribution!GUIDELINES
All pieces must be centered on Tales of Symphonia and its characters. This can include the main party members, antagonists, monsters/enemies, summon spirits, NPCs, etc. Please limit any inclusion of characters from the sequel, Dawn of the New World/Knight of Ratatosk.All submitted works for the countdown must be new and of your own creation! The piece must also be SFW and not go beyond the PG-13 rating. Spoilers are allowed for all works and will be left up to the discretion of the creator on how much they want to portray.We ask that all final works be submitted ONE WEEK before their assigned day so that we can prepare for posting! (We will provide a Google Drive to submit to).Please wait to post your submissions to your social media account (ie: twitter/tumblr/Instagram) until after the Symphonia Remastered account has done so first. Writers may post their stories to AO3/FFnet, etc. one day before their assigned date so that we can have a link to direct to in our post.ARTISTS
🎨 All artwork must have at least one (1) character featured in the illustration with color. Submissions must not be traced or copied.🎨 Backgrounds are not required for the artwork, but they may be included if you wish to do so!🎨 Have your assigned “days left” number shown somewhere in the artwork.🎨 Files must be in JPEG, PNG, or GIF format.WRITERS
📚 All written work must center within the Tales of Symphonia canon (can be AU or otherwise), preferably with a focus on a character. Submissions must not be copied or plagiarized.📚 For prose fiction, the minimum word count is 500 words, with no hard limit to max word count. However, we suggest keeping it between 500 to 2500 words for better readability!📚 Please let us know which platform you will be hosting your fic ahead of time. We highly suggest hosting on Archive of our Own (AO3). If you do not have an account on the site and would like to make one, please email [email protected] for an invite.📚 Either one day before or on your assigned day, have your fic posted in full and provide us a working link to your story.COSPLAYERS
📸 Dress up as any character from Tales of Symphonia! All photos must be new and not already published elsewhere.📸 Group photos/collabs are allowed!📸 If hiring a photographer, please let us know their handle so we can give them proper credit!📸 Have your assigned “days left” number shown somewhere in the photo.📸 Files must be in JPEG or PNG format.
